Autism Understanding Scotland has prepared this document to explain how we manage your data in relation to the use of our website.

In this statement, references to ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ relate to Autism Understanding Scotland. This Privacy Statement is designed to ensure that Autism Understanding Scotland complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force on Friday 25th May 2018. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We will only collect and process information with your consent. We collect your email address when you contact us so that we may reply to your email or render other services, such as sending you information on autism or inviting you to events, seminars or training sessions.

We will not use your email or other contact details for any other reason. You can opt in/out to receive further communications about Autism Understanding Scotland through email, as well as using the controls at the bottom of every email campaign we send.

Your contact information will be stored securely by us.

We store this information with a number of secure third parties.These include:

  • Squarespace - our website content management platform

  • Google Sheets - which stores our signup lists from the website.

  • MailJet - our email communication platform.

Our website also collects and stores standard information about you to help improve your experience. This information will be collected and analysed for monitoring purposes. We may share this data publicly, but this information will be shared in an anonymised format.

If you access support through Autism Understanding Scotland we will collect the following information:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Telephone numbers (if you request to access services by phone).

Our main funder, the Scottish Government, asks us to collect anonymised data regarding race, age, gender, dates of diagnosis and if such a diagnosis is provided by the NHS or privately.

We will only use the information you give us for the purposes it was collected. We will not, under any circumstances, share or sell your personal data with any third party for their own purposes, and you will not receive marketing from any other companies, charities or other organisations as a result of giving your information to us.

There is some other information that we collect in relation to the operating of the website:

  • Web pages you visited prior to coming to this website.

This information may also include details about your use of this website, including:
